Free World Cup prediction league

Finished

The World Cup is over: here are the results and the final table. Keep your league for the next edition and, in the meantime, play the competitions in progress.

A prediction league is the office pool without the spreadsheet: everyone calls the score of each match before kickoff, and whoever reads the games best tops the table. On ChampSheep the World Cup prediction league is free, private and without betting: no money, no cash prizes and nobody keeping score by hand. Also known as Soccer World Cup.

How your prediction league scores

Every match scores up to 101 points: 56 for the right result, 17 for the goal difference and 14 for each side whose exact goals you call. The closer to the real score, the more points. The knockout rounds weigh more: the final is worth up to 707 points.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the World Cup prediction league cost?

Nothing. Creating the league, inviting your friends and predicting is free. An optional membership adds extras, but the whole prediction league is played without paying.

Is there any betting?

No. ChampSheep is a prediction game without betting: no money is staked and there are no cash prizes. If your group wants to play for something, that is between you and outside the app.

Can I keep the prediction league private?

Yes. A league is private by default: only the people with your invitation link can join, and only they see its table.

How many people can join?

As many as you like: the office, the group chat or the whole family. Every league has its own table, and anyone can be in several leagues at once.

Can I join with the World Cup already under way?

Yes. Join at any time and predict the matches still to be played. The ones already played count for nobody who joins later, so the table stays fair.

When do predictions lock?

At each match's kickoff. In a two-legged tie, both legs lock together when the first leg starts.

How are points calculated?

Per match: the right result scores more than the goal difference, and the exact score takes everything. In the knockout rounds the matches weigh more. Points update by themselves with every result.

Can we play other competitions in the same league?

Yes. One league can follow several competitions at once, with a table per competition or one overall table that adds them up.
